How to Order a Custom Cake in Karachi (Step by Step)

To order a custom cake in Karachi, contact the baker at least 2 to 3 days before your event with a reference photo, the size in pounds, the flavour, the colours, the name or message, the date and time, and your address. At Hadies Crust regular cakes are Rs. 1,500 per pound, and the price for a custom design is confirmed on the phone or by email once we have seen what you want. How much notice a custom cake needs

Custom and themed cakes need 2 to 3 days' notice. This is not a formality. Decorations have to be made and left to set, colours have to be mixed and matched, and the cake itself should be baked fresh, close to your date.

A themed cake ordered the night before is a rushed cake, and it shows. If your event falls around Eid, in wedding season, or on a weekend when half of Karachi seems to have a birthday, get in touch earlier. The sooner your date is confirmed, the less you have to worry about.

If you have run out of time, a regular cake from our cakes page with a name written on top is a better choice than a hurried custom design.

What to send us

Bakers ask the same questions for every custom order. If you answer them all in your first email, or have them ready when you call, you skip a day of back and forth.

Reference photo	Words like "simple" and "elegant" mean different things to everyone. A picture removes the doubt. Email one or two to info@hadiescrust.store, and say what you like about each.
Size in pounds	The design has to fit the cake. If you are unsure, send your guest count and use our guide on how many pounds of cake you need.
Flavour	Choose from Chocolate Fudge, Vanilla Bean, Red Velvet, Strawberry Shortcake or Black Forest.
Colours	Name them plainly, such as light pink and gold. If you are matching balloons or a mehndi outfit, send a photo of those too.
Name or message	Type it exactly as it should appear, with the spelling checked. A short name or message is free.
Date and time	The date of the event and the time you need the cake in hand, not the time the party starts.
Address or pickup	Your full address with a landmark, or tell us you will collect from Bahria Complex 1, M.T. Khan Road.

We tell you what is possible. Sometimes a design needs a small change to work at your size or in your flavour. We will say so plainly.
We quote the price. The custom design price is given on the phone or by email after we have seen the design. We never quote blind.
You confirm. Payment and the delivery or pickup time are confirmed on the call.
The cake is made for your date.
Delivery or pickup. We deliver to DHA, Clifton, Keamari, Saddar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and nearby areas. Delivery is Rs. 200, and free on orders of Rs. 3,000 or more. Pickup is free. The details are on our delivery info page.

Design choices that raise the price

We cannot give you a number without seeing your design, and no honest baker can. But we can tell you what pushes a quote up, so you can decide where to spend.

Fondant covering and fondant shapes. Every piece is rolled, cut and placed by hand. More pieces mean more hours.
Tiers. Two or three tiers need supports inside, careful stacking and very careful transport.
Hand made figures and characters. A cartoon character or a little bride and groom is a small sculpture. These take the most time of all.
Fresh fruit. The cost moves with the season, and the fruit has to be bought fresh close to the day.
Photo prints. They need special material and a very smooth surface underneath.
Many colours, metallic finishes and fine piping. Each colour is mixed separately, and detail work is slow work.

Common mistakes to avoid

Ordering too late. The most common one. Count back 3 days from your event and set a reminder.
Sending a photo with no size. A design made for a three tier cake will not look the same on 2 pounds. Tell us your pounds and we will suggest how to adapt it.
Expecting an exact copy. Every baker's hands are different, and photos online are often edited. Expect the same idea and feel, not a photocopy.
Forgetting the weather. Strawberry Shortcake and Black Forest are fresh cream cakes and must stay refrigerated. For an outdoor event in summer, Chocolate Fudge is the sturdiest choice. Our post on fresh cream vs buttercream vs fudge cake explains the difference.
Spelling given only by voice. Names like Zoya, Zoyah and Zoha sound alike on the phone. Spell the name out letter by letter, or type it in your email.
Giving the party time as the delivery time. If guests come at 8pm, ask for the cake earlier, so there is time to set the table and take photos.
Changing the design at the last minute. Once decorations are made, a new colour or theme may not be possible. Decide first, then confirm.
An address with no landmark. Add a well known landmark, the gate, and the floor, so the rider finds you on the first try.
