Why cookies and brownies suit office gifting

A corporate gift has a harder life than a birthday cake. It rides in a car, waits at reception and is often opened hours later, sometimes at home the next day. Whatever is inside has to cope with all of that.

Cookies and brownies do. There is no cream to melt, nobody needs a knife or plates, and nobody has to gather around while something is cut. A person can eat one at the desk with chai and keep the rest for later.

They also share easily. A client can pass the box around the team, and a staff member can take it home to the family. Our cookies come in several flavours and looks, from the classic chocolate chunk to decorated ones, so a box looks varied without being complicated. The fudge brownie is the dense, chocolatey piece that almost everybody likes.

What does not work in a gift box

Fresh cream is the main thing to avoid. Cream cakes and cream pastries need a fridge, and an office gift rarely gets one. In Karachi heat and humidity, cream softens quickly in a parked car or a warm lobby.

Be careful with anything tall or delicate too. Cupcakes with high swirls of frosting can smudge if a box tips in traffic, so they are better for an in-office celebration where they go straight from the rider to the table. Donuts are at their best on the day they are made, so they suit a morning surprise for the team more than a gift that may be opened tomorrow.

If you want a cake for a farewell or a team lunch, order it separately from the gift boxes and have it delivered close to the time you will cut it.

How to plan the quantity

Start with the list of people, not the budget. Write down exactly who gets a box, then sort them into groups, because not every group needs the same box.

• Clients and partners: one box per contact person, or one larger box per company if it will be shared.
• Staff appreciation: one box per employee. Count from the HR list, including people on leave who will collect later.
• Farewells: one gift box for the person leaving, plus something the team can share.
• Eid and year-end: usually the biggest run, because clients and staff are covered together.

Then add a small buffer. Five to ten percent extra covers the name somebody forgot, the new joiner and the box your director wants to hand to a visitor.

Decide the pieces per box next. Two or three pieces feels like a thank-you. Four to six pieces feels like a proper gift that can be shared at home.

Working out a budget from per-piece prices

Our menu prices are per piece, which makes a first budget easy. Cookies are Rs. 280 to 540 each depending on the type, and the fudge brownie is Rs. 320. The glazed gingerbread man is Rs. 900, if you want one standout piece in a year-end box.

These are examples to help you plan, not fixed box prices. Multiply the per-box figure by your headcount plus the buffer and you have a working number to take to your manager. For example, 40 boxes of two cookies and one brownie come to roughly Rs. 35,200 to 56,000 at menu prices.

Lead time: when to place the order

For a handful of boxes, normal ordering is fine. For a large order, get in touch a few days before you need it. Baking dozens of cookies and brownies properly takes oven time, and it is better planned than rushed.

Give extra notice around Eid and at year-end, when your own calendar is already full. If you want anything made to a special design, call and ask first. Custom work needs 2 to 3 days' notice and the price is quoted after we see the design.

A simple timeline that works for most admin teams:

1. One to two weeks before: finalise the recipient list and get the budget approved.
2. A few days before: call us with the quantities, box mix and date, and confirm the quote.
3. The day before: confirm the address, the contact person and the time window.
4. On the day: make sure someone is at reception to receive and count the boxes.

Delivery to offices in Saddar, Clifton and DHA

We deliver to the office areas closest to us, including Saddar, Clifton and DHA, along with Keamari and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Most corporate orders cross Rs. 3,000, so the Rs. 200 delivery charge usually does not apply. Collecting from Bahria Complex 1 on M.T. Khan Road costs nothing, which is handy if someone from your office is passing by.

If boxes need to go to several client addresses, call us before you promise anything. We do not deliver very far across the city, and far areas need to be checked first. The simplest plan is one delivery to your office, then your own sales team or riders hand the boxes over during their normal client visits.

Send these details with the order so the rider is not stuck at the gate:

• Building name, floor and the nearest landmark
• A contact name and mobile number that will be answered
• Any security or reception instructions
• The time window when someone will be there to receive
